Isaac's Calgary Journal travel blog

Today was a very eventful day. We toured two schools, and I learned a lot from each of the very different schools. The first school was celebrating the 150th anniversary of Canada. I noticed an extreme patriotism evident in everyone at the school. This is amazing to me, as these people were very sincere. Often, American "patriotism" is very sarcastic or joking, so this sincerity was incredible. I noticed a lot of language differences at this school, especially the prounounciation of the word "about," which most Canadians were pronouncing "a boat."

At the second school, I enjoyed seeing a lot of students in action in the classroom. These students were very active in their education, and the school has some great art and theatre programs that I loved getting to see. This emphasis on arts education is something I wish would come to the States.
