Larry & Maureen's Travel Adventures travel blog

Awaiting dinner.

Cutting up a supply of veggies for the fridge.

You never know who will turn up at your campsite!

Carrying the very carefully wrapped glass kitchen table top.

Why'd we buy such a big bed!?

Even half full, the cedar chest weighed a ton.

The Move

The Move began way back in May when the sorting and packing started. More than a full load was sent with 1-800-GOT-JUNK and a big load was given to Big Brothers.

The boys moved on July 6, as mentioned, and they took an awful lot of stuff - probably more than they should have in their little house. Since then they have acquired our almost new fridge from the house as well as a very welcome little freezer, a house-warming gift from Auntie Pat and Uncle Steve.

Our move was scheduled for Sunday, July 22, preceded the night before by the final staff BBQ where over 50 people dined on the "famous" Larry Combo Burgers. The move began bright and early "about 10:30" and with the help of several of Kelly and Aaron's friends and our nephew from Victoria. We took a full load of our "good" furniture to our storage space and totally filled it. We took a few more things to the boys' house.

On Wednesday, the 25th, the Canadian Diabetic Association took a huge truckload and 1-800-GOT-JUNK took another sizeable load. So the house was empty. It still looked pretty good - almost as good as when we moved in.

So now we are in the Pacific Border RV Park until the 30th. The place is nice - quiet and clean. Larry has turned over a new leaf and is eating a lot of raw vegetables. We have had several visitors to the site, more than we ever had at home. Maureen's has had a couple of good walks on the WR Promenade and Larry has begun water-walking at the pool here at the RV Park.

We're off to the Kootenays Monday - starting with two nights in Kamloops, two nights in Revelstoke and three nights in Golden. We took what we could get for the August long weekend.
