Oregon Coast

Not only a corridor but a State Park!

Got a little late start today. Hurried up and found our location for church could not be reached by the time the 10 AM service started. Now we had a lot of time on our hands. So we found a closer UMC and their service was at 11. We had already pulled out of our campsite and went for a SECOND breakfast (we both had already eaten). We are very glad we did. Evidently the adult in charge of the cafe as sick. So she sent her daughters and other teenager girls to cover for Sunday breakfast. Let me tell you we were so impressed with their work ethic, politeness, and ability it gave us reason to believe we are going to be OK in the future. These young teenagers were the cooks, waitresses, dishwashers etc. It was a very nice second breakfast. Then to church. What a friendly group at Nehalem Bay UMC. They welcomed us, prayed for us during sharing and fed us after the service. A full course pot luck lunch is served every Sunday. Our thanks to this wonderful group for the food and fellowship. Then we took to the coast road with threatening skies. Beautiful scenery. We stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory in Tillamook OR. Took a tour and watched them make and package cheese. They also make other dairy products like yogurt, sour cream, ice cream, butter and such. We continued down the road and the rain started so we headed east. There are mountains right on the Oregon shore so we took the H.B. VANDUZER (sound familiar?) Corridor to get to our resting place tonight.......the Dallas OR Walmart! Actually, this is a more scenic spot than some of the campgrounds we have stayed in. Nice grass and trees and a level spot as it rains. Going to stay inland for a couple of days as the forecast is poor. Then we plan to go back to the coast and continue our trip south to California. Enjoy the pics.
