The happy campers

We left Portland and headed for the famed Oregon coast. We stopped in Seaside and looked around. We saw the Pacific and the end of the trail for Lewis and Clark. Seaside looked like many other seaside towns and not nearly as neat as our own Neptune Beach Florida, but then we are prejudiced. We headed south (the ocean is on our right)and found beautiful views of the rugged Oregon coast. We pulled into a very nice state park in Nehalem Bay. This is the kind of campground we like. Large sites with paved roads and pads but with plenty of grass with beach pines and trees. Water and electric $20. We took a walk to the beach and saw 3 surfers with wet suites. Heading the church and then back inland. The forecast is pretty ominous with high winds and heavy rain for the next couple of days beginning in the afternoon. The water is really no fun in rough weather and we will go down the Henry B. VanDuzer scenic corridor East before we head back south later today. Probably a relative of Shirley's. Interestingly Henry is her father's first name although he went by Roy. Enjoy the pics.
