Home is where we park it... travel blog

We wanted to travel the Bear Tooth Highway (212) to Rapid City, but the road is still closed for the season with snow & ice. So I-90 it is.

It was a pretty nice day. A constant threat of thundershowers, but an easy drive. The stretch after Gillette is a little more plain. Not boring, just a lot of grass lands and LOTS of prong horn deer.

Rapid City is what is called our 'legal domicile'. Really what we have is a mail box, our banking, we vote, drivers license, our vehicles are registered here and so on. We do not own any real estate. July 1st we will have been living in our coach for 5 years! Time sure does fly.

We will be in Rapid City through June 8th. I am flying to Atlanta on Tues. the 22nd to meet my mother for a 11 day Southern Mansion tour. Can hardly wait.

My step Dad is flying to Rapid City to join JC and bicycle the famed Mickelson Rails to Trails. Mom and I will return June 3rd. Then we will play tour guide for my parents. One of my mother's bucket list items is to see Mount Rushmore.
