After an uneventful, full day of flying (the only way you want to fly) we arrived in Prague on Friday evening, around 4:15pm. Luckily, we had the foresight to organise a transfer from the airport directly to our AirBnB apartment because I hadn’t quite anticipated how early it gets dark over here and finding the apartment in the dark would have certainly tried our relationship!
It was really quite disconcerting to listen to the radio and hear the Tones and I song “Dance Monkey” (didn’t she just play at the Grand Final?) and Sheppard “Geronimo” – they must like Aussie music over here.
Our apartment is well located in the Old Town of Prague and we have spent the last two days getting orientated and wandering around all the back streets. This is truly a beautiful city; the architecture is amazing, with more jaw dropping buildings around every corner. Unfortunately, my photos do not do the place justice.
I decided not to waste a “sunrise” this morning so headed out at 6am to see if I could capture the Charles Bridge without any tourists. As I suspected, many photographers had the same idea and the streets were certainly not deserted, what with Saturday night revellers still in full swing and mad tourists like myself out trying to capture the perfect shot.
Unfortunately, the sun did rise, behind a blanket of clouds, but I’ll be back again at least one more time this week to see if I can improve on today’s efforts.
I wont bore you with too many photos, I promise!
