Church --1794. Next to cemetery

We woke up to sunny skies but brisk winds --which made for a splendid morning walking through neighborhoods we hadn't strolled yet. Spent another hour early in the morning at the Recoleta Cemetery. A review of the BA map shows we have traversed a lot of the city over the course of 7 days. The two days of the Hop On bus helped with that tremendously. We are so pleased with our week here. It has been such a good experience and we have learned so much about this very big capital city. Tomorrow we check out of the hotel in the morning, store our luggage for a few hours and go to the weekend market across the street, then get a cab to the ship. Four days ago we bought a large Spanish/English dictionary and it has been so helpful. There are not that many places where folks speak English here so we have learned to write out our questions and spend time exploring menus via looking up words in the big dictionary....a humbling experience that encourages us to learn some Spanish. We think it would be fun to go one winter to Costa Rica (Carribean side) and enroll in an immersion Spanish program where you live locally and experience learning spanish thru daily classes and field trip. My friend Carole Hemphill did this year ago and enjoyed it.

We are packing our four suitcases up tonite and getting all set.
