Leaving Yukon Canada

First picture of Alaska

One foot in Canada, one foot in the USA!!

Welcome to Alaska

US/Canada Border

Swan display at Tetlin NWR Visitor Center

WOW, day 19, we departed Beaver Creek YT Canada, and entered back into the good ole USA at 10 AM (we gained another hour). By this time, we have traveled a total of 3,263 miles!! We stopped at the border crossing and took lots of pictures, then proceeded thru the US Customs. After US customs, we stopped at the Tetlin Nat'l Wildlife Refuge, lots of swans and cranes migrate thru this part of the country. They had a beautiful visitor center with a movie, but we did not take the time to watch the movie as we were so excited to get to Tok AK. We arrived at Tok (pronounced toke), and took a spot at the Tundra RV park. We picked up a few essentials in Tok, and drove into a gas station to see our friends from California (Veronica & Henry) driving out...we did not get a chance to talk to them as they were heading north toward Delta Junction, and we were just pulling in. Funny how that goes tho, we had last seen them in Whitehorse 3 days earlier; we have been in communication via text, and believe our paths will cross again. I will get onto posting some pics shortly, but have to note one thing, this was our FIRST DAY W/O ROAD CONSTRUCTION!!
