I left Capetown on Saturday morning and made the 30 minute drive to Stellenbosch and the "Stumble Inn" Backpacker. Stellenbosch is a beauftiful little town right in the heart of wine country and home to one of South Africa's largest universities. The town had a nice feel to it with little coffe shops set amidst the white washed cape-dutch architecture.
The nest day I signe on to a wine tour around some of the over 100 vineyards in the area. We only went to four, but that was enough. We saw:
1. Boschendel - over 1000 acres and one of the more famous SA labels
2. Farivew - home to the Fairview and "Goats Do Roam" labels and purveyors of some fantastic cheeses
3. Dieu Donne - meaning "God Given," and what a view it was (the wines weren't to bad either.)
4. And ... and ... well, lets just say it was a long day.
