Very choppy water on the left and calm water on the right...

Spectacular sky

It was a day of layers of gray

A weather front went thru today leaving great cloud formations

Very colorful

More great sky

It was rainy and windy most of the night, and that continued throughout most of today. The sound of rain on the roof of the Dutch Star is very pleasant, and both Nancy and I enjoy these rainy days every now and then. I've been hoping for a stormy day for a while and today I got what I wanted.

We decided to take the ferry and visit Nancy's 96 year old grandma Elizabeth and uncle Paul, and after the visit joined them for dinner at Claire's Pantry, one of Nancy and G'ma's favorite local restaurants, which is located in Edmonds near where we would be getting on the ferry for the return trip to Chimicum. We had a great time with them and the food was very good also. It was Uncle Paul's first experience at Claire's Pantry and he enjoyed the home cooked liver and onions.

One the return trip the sky was spectacular! The weather front that went thru during the day produced some really great skies and I tried to capture some of them as Nancy drove the Ranger on the way home.

Virginia Tech put up a valiant fight for 3 quarters against Alabama, but were eventually worn down and beaten by a better team. I believe that Alabama is a real contender for a national title this year, and is probably better than it's #5 ranking.
