It is travel day and what a wonderful trip we have had. I am ready to get home and see family, friends, and my house. Ben and I left for Budapest airport at 6:30 for a 9:15 flight to Frankfurt, Germany, Dulles in Washington, DC and then Columbia on United. The rest of our group was flying Air France to Paris and then Delta to Atlanta and then driving to Lexington. They discovered on Monday that Air France is on strike and they had to be re-routed through Amsterdam leaving at 2:20pm instead of 9:45am. They had a long day ahead of them. Everything went well at the airports in Europe. Easy peasy!! We got on the plane in Frankfurt and were very happy to see that our compartment had more empty seats than full ones. We could move and have 3 seats for sleeping and the space made for a relaxing but long flight. We got to Dulles and getting through customs was horrendous. Lines were long and it took about an hour. We arrived at our gate(after putting a lot of steps on my step meter) as our plane was boarding for Columbia. We settled in for a bout an hour flight. The sight of Lake Murray was a welcome one and we hurried home. It is always great to travel but there is nothing like getting back home.
I thank God for a wonderful trip and safe travels. Until next time ——————-.
