Maree & Lui Canada Adventure travel blog

Travelling along through some of the most spectular scenery and lovely towns you can imagine today. Canmore - so much cheaper than Banff and only about 20 minutes down the road. One of the best views was from the 'Save on Food' carpark. Skiing town - definately recommend this place.

Banff was beautiful! but expensive. Lovely for a walk of the main shopping area and a visit to the Banff Springs Hotel. Next stop, Lake Louise, with about 10,000 other visitors. It was still beautiful to see - just wish we had have been there by ourselves. The Chateau Lake Louise is a grand hotel with the price to match - about $400 AUD per night and your not allowed on the grounds unless your a guest. Anyway, have ticked both of these off my bucket list now.

We then headed to Golden - a town that hasn't got much going for it. We found Mary's Hotel, checked in and headed to our room, only to find that we were like the 3 bears when they came back from their morning walk - the door was open and someone had be sleeping in our bed! YUCK. Marched back down to reception, told him I wanted a refund and we left. Booked into the Holiday Inn - so much better for the night. Dinner at the Diner across from the hotel was very good food and like stepping back into the 1960's.
