Blyton Park

Here's something to make you giggle - we selected this evenings accommodation last night looking at the web site for the Walnut Tree Inn. The photos showed a lovely canal boat and so we assumed, wrongly as it turns out, that it was on the side of the canal! The straight line that appeared to be the canal is actually a train line! 3 trains every 5 minutes. The room rattles and shakes and this is the only hotel we've ever been in to supply ear protection - I'm not kidding.

Anyway we've had a very nice dinner and we went for a walk to find the canal, which isn't too far away, so walked along the tow path for a short way.

We started the day at Blyton Race track, where Tony had found a track day for Formula Renault 2000.

We arrived early, not knowing what the traffic would be like, so had a couple of hours to watch others driving around the track. Tony really enjoyed it and had a chap in the other car who knew what he was doing so went at a good speed. Some of the earlier people were very slow and kept stalling the cars, making it frustrating for the second car.

He had 12 laps in the little thing and it had started to drizzle so they put wet tyres on for them.
