|The boring wait at Ha Noi airport passed, the flight and pickup were uneventful; Qatar Airways were good, only a snack as the flight was only an hour and a half. Back at the hotel we checked in and welcome drink in hand we were shown, almost rushed to our room. The hotel manager escorted us and could barely contain her excitement; she had upgraded us to a luxury suite! The room we had before was great but this is fabulous, it was vast with a large bedroom, a large sitting room and the biggest bathroom we'd seen. Pity it's only for two nights!
After breakfast I had to go and find the camera repair centre. Fortunately it was only 5 stops along the Skytrain and a short walk to their offices. They fixed the card door and the lens in about half an hour; not an unpleasant wait, as the aircon was a great relief after my journey from the hotel.
Another relaxing day. Ruth had a massage whilst I went off to get my camera fixed and on my return we enjoyed the hotel pool. The pool was over 20 metres long so I could get a reasonable swim. Lunch and a leisurely afternoon in our suite, sorting out what we wanted to take for the next loop of our journey; all packed and then my turn for a Thai massage, dinner then bed. Ariyasomvilla was beginning to feel like a second home, everyone was so friendly and the pace of life easy.
