Great Alaska Adventure travel blog

Our next to last day - we like it here, but we have to think about getting back to our real lives.

Our day started with another good RV breakfast, with microwave scrambled eggs, fried biscuits, sausage, and HOT coffee.

After breakfast, we walked down to the beach and looked across Cook Inlet to the magnificent view of glaciers and brief glimpses of Mt Redoubt.

We had another coffee and internet break at McDonalds in Kenai and continuied back down the Sterling Highway and we enjoyed the scenery and explored a couple of side roads to try to find a good view. Our stop for lunch at Watson Lake was really nice, with a view of the lake and a quiet setting for lunch.

We stopped for the night at Kenai Princess RV park and used our GoodSam club discount. Linda Nugent at the RV park was a great host for the RV park and gave us a lot of information about this property and talked about working for Princess and the travel benefits.

We walked up to the lodge and had an Alaskan beer and an internet update, and talked with a very nice couple, retired teachers, from Anchorage.

There is a very nice trail down to the river with a picturesque view of the Kenai River.

Our plan for the night is to enjoy the hot tub then have dinner at the restaurant in the lodge. We did not make it to the hot tub, but did have a nice dinner in the lodge.

We are both having end of trip thoughts. It has been a wonderful trip - exploring the interior of Alaska.
