4-3Wiki Info Fethiye
Today is 'getting info' day, bus and ferry times...we have until the 18th when we fly out of Cyprus to travel betwixt hither and yon, ha! Took 2 hours to hunt down info Fethiye, Antalya, Silifke (Tasucu - ferry to Cyprus). First we went to Tourist Info office and gal said that internet info says ferries go M,W,F...the travel agency was closed so we had Turkish breakfast. The agency was open after our breakfast and the guy there sent us to the Harbor Master. Very helpful fellows there called to ferry company and we discovered ferries leave, T,W,T, Sunday! Always good to get 2nd opinion! Ckd out of pencion and off to bus station where we find there is no direct bus to Fethiye until 8pm...now we piece together buses to get there via transfers, leave Bodrum @ 11:30am. Ended up changing buses in Yatagan altho our ticket said Cine...the bus guys worked it all out. We are definately in Turkey where the buses are all First Class...on board service includes beverages (tea, coffee, cola, water), AC and this second bus has TV/music/movies! Way cool! At the bus station the different companies send out their representatives who are very friendly, giving advise about bus schedules and offering places to stay. The second one to hit us also had an uncle with Onur Pension/Hostel
, kitchen, internet, and most important a room w/ 3 beds! He at first offered $90 lira but later came down to $75 = $42 US. Also included breakfast and a ride to/from the bus station now and tomorrow morning when we go to Antalya. Following the LP's advise I visited the fish market and then had the 'sea bass I picked out prepared at Oztoklu family restaurant right next to the fish market. Bon & Mari didn't partake so we walked down to the waterfront, saw the Roman theater ruins and the yachts parked all along the 'boardwalk' to entice tourists for a 'sail'.... I had my rice pudding dessert while they ate their veggie dinners.
