|Yesterday afternoon, in a heavy rain, we drove to Charlottetown. We found Walmart, the only one on the island and then we found the Confederation Centre during afternoon rush hour. Charlottetown is a beautiful city. It has a large harbor and accommodates large cruise ships from all over the world. It was the first city in Canada. We ate at the Dublin's Pub, right next to the Confederation Centre, where we also found the Fantasy Tour group eating. It seems that they are following us (or maybe we are following them)ha! We sat at the table next to them and talked with several of their group as we have met most of them during the course of this trip. The food was great! I was able to get Lois' picture with the actress that plays the part of Anne before the play. The play was outstanding (receiving a standing ovation) and the house was packed even though the economy is really affecting tourism right now. After the play, we meandered through the back roads of Charlottetown finding our way back to the campground in Cavendish. Lois drives and I navigate on most of our car trips. Today, we drove over to the east side of PEI to St Peters Bay and to Greenwich PEI National Park. We hiked about 4.5km roundtrip to some unusual parabolic sand dunes close to the beach. On the hike, we crossed a fairly large lake over a floating boardwalk. Mosquitoes were terrible and hungry. On the way back to the campground, we stopped and bought Gouda cheese at a local farm and cheese factory and also stopped at a fish market and bought cooked lobster for supper. Tomorrow, we go back over the long bridge and head to Nova Scotia.
