Varnish time

Haven't see the captain dressed like this in a long time. Two...

As of June 7th we returned Blue Aweigh to Ventura. We were lucky enough to have family and friends welcoming us back upon arrival. It was good to see everyone and catch up over a few cocktails.

We are living aboard our boat until late fall when we hope to depart again as it just didn't make sense to move back on land for such a short period of time. What happened? Ventura feels frigid to us after 7 months in Mexico as we are not used to this June gloom. It is odd to be wearing long sleeves, jackets, pants and socks after months of shorts, tshirts and flip flops.

It is now time for boat maintenance and repairs. Mike is working on 4 coats of varnish now. Soon we will move to some land based deferred maintenance projects.

We cannot begin to explain how this adventure added so much joy to our lives. As nice as it is to be back, we look forward to going further later this year. Panama? Ecuador? We will see how life plays out this year. Thanks for reading our journals.
