Had a quiet morning except for the horrendous wind which was responsible for blowing out the window in the top loft. Lucky for duct tape to hold it in until we get to Adelaide to get it fixed (hopefully).

Spent the afternoon on a 5 hour bus tour around the town and out to the breakaways hills where Mad Max III was filmed (in much drier times since the country is unusually green everywhere). Some great views and a photo stop at the dog fence on the way back to town. Learnt about the old times of mining and the new open cut methods. The bus driver was saying that normally only the town oval was green except it all is. What an interesting golf course there is as we had a tour of an old mine and underground house as well. Then we finished the tour at the Serbian underground church - which is quite special with all the carvings of figurines from the rock. The tour is a must to give you a good sense of the town and surrounds.

Boys and mum had pizza from the pizza place that operates out of the caravan park as well (old greek owns the lot and it is how he started here in Coober Pedy back in the 80's).
