The onset of Spring brought with it our last full moon

in Anza Borrego for this year and the most powerful perfume of orange blossoms permeated the valley on a light wind. The daytime temperatures soared to the high 80's making outdoor activities short and shade-oriented, but the mornings, late afternoons and evenings were magnificent. We walked early and lingered outside till dark, enjoying the last remnants of this winter's visit.

Every year in March Borrego Springs is host to the Circle of Art Festival at Christmas Circle Park in the heart of town. Hence the name "Circle of Art". This fine arts show is free to the public and features over sixty artists exhibiting their quality paintings and art works representing a variety of media including oil and watercolors,

photography, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, weaving and jewelry. This year it occurred over Easter weekend and we all spent a great Saturday visiting the many booths and displays, listening to the live entertainment and partaking of some really good food offerings.

Easter was hot, made even more so by a whole lot of cooking going on! Our dinner will be a shared labor of love with Rodger and Sharon. Howard fixed his "signature" racks of lamb which required the use of the convection oven. Since running the generator is necessary we might as well fire up the air conditioners! A delicious meal and wonderful time was shared with good friends with calls to and from all the family!

On Monday we all say our final goodbyes to Steve and Sweetie who are among the few remaining "residents" of our little desert community and drive the short distance to La Quinta and the Lake Cahuilla County Park for two days of provisioning, laundry and visiting with Earl and Gail. Their newly purchased "winter home"

is in a beautiful mobile community in Indio with many amenities such as pools, clubhouse, spas, exercise rooms, extensive library, and golf course. The grounds are pristine with many greenbelt areas of open space. We spent several hours visiting on their large porch, admiring their place and touring the impressive facilities.
