Kyla and Nick Around the World travel blog

Visiting the Caen Memorial - a fantastic museum on D-Day, the war,...

At the Canadian memorial in Caen, pointing out her dad's squadron.

Pointing out Nick's grandfather's squadron, the 405 Pathfinders of Allied Bomber Command.

After a couple of great days in Rouen aka the town of many churches, we are off to Caen for a visit with another couple. Rouen was beautiful and very relaxed and easy going after our time in Paris. We hope to return for a visit. Kamel, Ceceille, Annouk and Romeo were fantastic hosts with great patience for Kyla,s French - although it took some time for Annouk to realize that Kyla was certainly not a French speaker. It is amazing how long giggles and funny faces can get you with a 4 year old!

Thank you so much for your Rouen hospitality!

Today should be an interesting day as our new host is going to receive a film award and we have been invited to the award ceremony and also help out - somehow. Kyla is usually the one to get us into these interesting situations but this time it was all Nick. We will be sure to let you know how we make out!
