Homeless Jobless Bum travel blog

As the ship had stayed at Cairns last night we took the bus to Port Douglas. It took about an hour and there is not a lot there. We had a look around and had lunch at Mango Jam that Sam had recommended. I had ordered the fish of the day and was expecting better than fish and chips. In fact I almost turned it away thinking they had bought me the wrong order. It wasn't bad though.

The town itself is quite pretty and has quite a bit to do if you have more time. The drive there and back is also worth the look. Our time there was short and the weather was very warm. Retreating to the bus was a godsend. The trip back however was interrupted by road works. There was some work going on with the over head wires so our trip back took a bit longer than planned.

We had noticed that the ocean was calm so the reason we had been given to not tender at Port Douglas was not holding any water. No pun intended. I guess the captain was just playing it safe after so many were sick getting into the Whitsunday's. But it was annoying that we missed what would have been a great view.
