WORLD'S VIEW THROUGH MY PEN travel blog

We spent most of today in the village again today. There is just too much to see. We only came back to the coach for lunch and a short rest. I was tired tonight so we went to the Village restaurant. Russell ordered a dinner salad that was an extra 95 cents to go with the cheeseburger he ordered. You should have seen his face when they brought him a bowl of iceberg lettuce and about a tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese on it. He asked the waitress if they ever put anything else in their salad and she said no. I gave him the tomato, romaine leaf and onion slices from my sandwich so that was a bit better. Needless to say, he wasn't impressed. As big vegetable eaters, we are finding the restaurants here in the midwest heavy on starches and gravy, etc. We'll be back on the road again in the morning. What an historic day to wake and hear that our brave military was able to eliminate Bin Ladin. Wish we had done Saddam Hussein that way instead of the long, damaging, expensive war.
