Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Larry & Dick looking for berries on the other side...

It's pretty around this area...

Lots of green still around for this late in July...

Just a swingin...

Dick's holdin' up the post for Larry & Lou...

Ahhh, nice pic...

We took a hike up to the rock quarry to pick raspberries last evening, but the deer beat us to them. Darn, I was really looking forward to eating them too! Dick and Larry hiked to the top to see if there were more plants on the other side that they might have missed, but no such luck. Ah well, it was nice to take a walk after dinner anyway. We exited the trees on the back of the Custer Mountain Campground property and strolled our way back up to the front, where we enjoyed swinging and chatting. It was just beautiful outside, a perfect 70 degrees.

Larry did the laundry for me this afternoon, while I worked on our new shelves. Whew, what a job! We have way more 'things' with us then I remembered. I seem to thin things down each time I rearrange them though, so that's a good thing. Less weight all the time. I made spaghetti for dinner & Dick and Lou joined us. We planned to play Hand & Foot this evening, but they didn't sleep well last night so they took a raincheck. I was tired also, so that was fine with me.

Tomorrow is the beginning of Gold Discovery Days here in Custer. We're looking forward to the street dance, hospital bed races, Arts in the Park, car show and of course, the parade on Saturday morning. Always a good time. Larry got the best lip balm at the Arts in the Park 3 years ago and he is hoping to get a new one. It's been in his pocket since the day he purchased it. and that poor tube is pretty beat up! Just one of many unique items available to purchase. We try to resist most of it....Until then, goodnight.
