|Today Jack & Barb brought over a plate of Buckeye's. Do you know what Buckeye's are? We didn't, but let me tell you that they are the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate -- a "chocolate lover's" dream come true! I'm not much of a sweet eater, but these were yummy...as you know Jack & Barb are from Ohio and the Buckeye is their state nut. So, these resemble that nut. I took a picture before we dove in, well shortly after! There were a couple of more when they arrived, LOL...
It was a laid back day. Larry assembled our new BBQ grill and did the laundry. I downloaded a couple of audio books for listening to later on down the road. And Dick stopped by to take measurements for the shelves he is going to install for me. I am converting my washer/dryer closet into more storage space. We have many of our t-shirts, jeans and shorts on hangers and I am looking forward to folding them instead. Hopefully I will gain some much needed hanging space.
Today is Bonnie and Larry's 44th Wedding Anniversary. Wow, that's a bunch of years together! Anyway, Happy Anniversary guys. And yesterday was daughter-in-law Kelly's birthday. So Happy Birthday to you too honey! We did call them both and would like to have been there to share in their special day. Just know that you are in our thoughts and we hope you enjoyed your celebration.
Around 5:30, I made a salad and grilled steaks for dinner, and then we headed downtown for 2 hours of music. There are 18 nights of free entertainment provided by talented locals and hosted by the city of Custer's Chamber of Commerce. It is piped all over the downtown area for all to hear as well. Just one more of the many reasons we love this town so much! Afterward, Jack built a lovely campfire and we popped some kettle corn and visited for a couple of hours. About the time the fire burned down the sky filled with flashes of lightening and the thunder rolled in. We quickly gathered our stuff and ran for cover. It is raining, thundering and lightning as I write this post, but that's okay. We love the patter of the rain on our roof while sleeping. That doesn't mean I won't be praying for sunshine by morning, I will. But for now, I feel snug as a bug in a rug....that is how it goes, isn't it? LOL Good night.....
