|2nd November – Tathra.
A long harrowing drive today of around an hour from Eden to here…
We are at Tathra Beachfront Park (we have stayed here before) but this time we are on the road side and not over near the tick infested Melaleucas.
It’s been an absolutely glorious day though the sea breeze is coolish… We do need a cut lunch to get to the amenities block though but who cares we have our own…
After lunch we wandered down to the Swiss Bakery which is now a Vietnamese bakery to get something naughty for afternoon tea.
Then I had a brief Veterans nap…
My ubeaut water pressure limiting valve that goes on my hose was leaking so I spent some time pulling that apart and then putting some sealant on the threads and putting it back together. Then I noticed that the top fridge vent was not catching so I fixed it with some stainless steel self tappers so on the rare occasions it has to come off now it will need unscrewing….
I wandered over to take the picture of the Wharf where once the Illawarra and South Coast Steam Navigation Co bought passengers and goods and took local produce and passengers to Sydney. Later the passenger service was cut back and passengers were dropped off at Nowra where their journey was continued by train… This service ran until 1954.
The weather is so good I have set up the BBQ and we had scotch fillet for dinner….
Tomorrow we are going to Tilba; I have to line my pockets with plastic bags so I can fill them with free samples of cheese…
