Just an update to get everyone informed. We are still here in Fun Valley. We have made 5 hikes, ranging between 5 and 9.2 miles since we got here. That is not too bad for a little over two weeks. It normally take me two weeks to learn how to breathe at this altitude. We have already been to a fish fry cookout, a dutch oven dessert/home-made ice cream social, a spaghetti dinner and a chuck-wagon cookout (benefit for the Wounded Warrior Project)since we have been here!
The Fun Valley band, The Wild Rose Band, started Monday evening. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the band plays for two hours and it is free. We generally get in a fair amount of boot-scootin' before it is time to head back to the RV's.
There is a wildfire burning about 25 to 30 miles west of us. This fire is called the West Fork Complex (two fires being worked as one). We are not in any danger so far, but the smoke gets pretty bad sometimes. Today, the smoke and wind created some interesting Kodak moments. Anyway, we are safe and not in any immediate danger. At least we have he ability to hitch up the rig and move on down the road. Prayers for those poor folks with permanent structures caught up in the other wildfires around Colorado and other places. Here is a nifty web site to look up wildfire incidents in Colorado and other states. The link is just for the West Fork fire near us! http://inciweb.org/incident/3436/
