|Day 17. Sambaa Deh Falls Territorial Park. (Journal could not locate park, so I clicked on map on approximate place.) Had to retrace on 'road from hell' today from Yellowknife. It's an in and out place. We were averaging about 30 mph...after about 40 miles road smoothed..a little. Then saw a small herd of bison. Boring road and then turned onto a gravel road which we will be on rest of day and all day tomorrow. Actually, it's better than the 'road from hell'.after about 70 miles we got to very nice, primitive (for me) campground. No hookups which means no hair dryer for mamma. Pretty buggy, but site was level enough that we didn't even unhitch. Very quiet and secluded. There were only 3 other campers. No road noise other than the 1 car every 5 hours. Sambaa Deh means trout lake. I think Deh has something to do with water, as I've seen it several times. We're driving the Deh Cho Route also known as the Waterfalls Route. River is short way from campsite and we took a hike to the Coral Falls. Very nice. LONG gravel road tomorrow.
