|This is our second go around at this entry as Janet has had too much to drink and has deleted about a half hour worth of entry by hitting the control button!!!! The ride down to Wellington was somewhat uneventful, flat and very windy. We had lunch in Wanganui and it seems as though 'Fubar' has a following in the Southern Hemisphere. It was a nice little city and I can see why Cory enjoyed his time here.
We camped near Wellington that night then went into the city for coffee and some gallery snooping for Janet. The International Rugby Sevens was there and the a guy Michael met at the coffee shop got to practice with the American squad. We caught the 1pm ferry over to the South Island (which is actually NORTH of Wellington) and got ready for a three hour tour.... The Skipper was a sailing man...
Janet has done many ferry rides in Canada, and this was the first one that she had to book in advance, not get on the ferry first, and also tie the bike down like the ship was going to sink. We had to use four ropes and two rubber tire stops to secure the beasts. Janet is convinced that her bike was under the leaking main sewer pipe. PHEW!!
