|Today was girl's day out. Larry didn't seem to mind hanging back from an afternoon of shopping, so Bonnie & I headed to Keystone & ultimately Hill City to do the 'tourist' thing. Time to replenish a few worn out t-shirts & check out jewelry, shoes, boots, hats & plenty of other 'stuff'. Plus, I had birthday money burning a hole in my pocket! Can you believe I made it home without buying one thing? Nope, me either. Now Bonnie on the other hand, well, let's just say she didn't seem to have any trouble finding a few needed items :) Don't worry brother, she didn't break the bank!
Our first stop was at Horsethief Lake, where we took a short stroll along the dock. We met a very nice couple & they took a couple of pics for us. Next, a brief stop to take in a profile of George Washington. Of course we've stopped here many times over the past 10 years but it's still a favorite place to stretch our legs. We did not stop at Mt Rushmore this time around but I'm going to post a couple of pics taken in the past in case you missed them. Love Mt Rushmore but it wasn't on our list of 'to do places' this year due to the amount of walking involved.
We found easy parking in Keystone this time around & hit EVERY store on the main block & even made our way down a side street where we know they carry cool purses. Didn't purchase one this time around which pleased my hubby. I don't always follow that 'one in, one out' rule very well, lol! Spent a couple of hours, then headed to Hill City where, once again, we hit EVERY store on Main Street. Once again, I purchased nothing! I know, weird isn't it? Guess I wasn't in much of a shopping mood after all :)
Tomorrow is the last day of Bonnie's annual trip. We are very bummed! But, we've really enjoyed having her for the week & have had a bunch of fun. I think she did too! Hopefully she'll come back again next year & brother Larry can make it too. It'll be a laid back day tomorrow so she won't feel the need to go home & rest from her 'vacation'. That used to be the way we felt before we started living this wonderful fulltime lifestyle. Ever felt that way??? Yep, thought so! Wednesday Larry has his post-op appointment so I'll let you all know how that goes. Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!
