|If you are a part of the Vegas family and friends that we did not get a chance to visit on this trip, we apologize. We just flat ran out of time! We squeezed in as much as was humanly possible. My camera came back to me in poor shape. As a matter of fact, Ritz Camera apologized and refunded us our $65. I don't know exactly what happened. as the person who originally worked with us was off that day. But it was definitely not cleaned properly. And, they wanted to keep it for two more weeks! Not happening, thank you very much. We'll just have to deal with it again later. We returned 12 DVD's to my Uncle Austin and had a nice visit with him. He owns over 300 movies and supplies us when we are in Vegas. Onyx had her bath and her Mom & Dad had haircuts. And a pedicure. We got new glass cut for the picture frame that crashed off the wall and broke. And we're stocked up on water filters and sundries for awhile. We also had an early Father's Day dinner/visit with Larry & Tawnia and actually got to visit for a bit. It was too hectic at Miss Jasmine's party to get much visiting done. And of course, we played Hand and Foot in the evenings with Bonnie and Larry. We won't be back in Vegas again for 6 months or so. We'll see more of you at that time, okay? Remember, we love you all!
We arrived back in Ely on Thursday, late afternoon. It was a pleasant drive back as we listened to one of our audio books along the way. We encountered one brief little shower, but fortunately we had all of our things covered with a tarp in the back. We picked numerous things up for sister Lori and Mom on our trip, as well as what we purchased for ourselves. Too much for inside the cab of the truck. Onyx was really squished in there as it was!
It was very cool as we unloaded with a brisk wind and temperatures in the high 50's....brrr. And those temps have remained since we arrived. It's going down into the low 30's at night, so our heater has been running much more than usual. We put all of our awnings down the day before we left, thank goodness. Guess the wind gave everyone fits while we were gone. We were debating on whether to put them all back out, but think we have opted not to. It's just too unpredictable right now. Lori told me last night that she doesn't remember ever having this kind of strange weather during the months of May and June. We did have a beautiful rainbow as we unloaded but by the time I got to the camera for a pic it had mostly disappeared. You can still see a small part of it though, so pretty....
I like the new table we purchased at Camping World very much. Lots of storage for our RV'ing books etc which we really needed. And I like my new living room rug as well. It's fun to do a little redecorating on a 'small budget'. Can't believe it's been three years since selling the 'stick house'. We actually drove past our old housing complex last week and discussed how much we are not missing it! It was a lovely, comfortable home for 20+ years of our life. But we are so blessed to be enjoying this wonderful lifestyle now during our 'retirement' years. Larry has a hard time being 'retired' as he still gets referrals from time to time. But he enjoys it and it supplements the budget for us, so we are grateful. And blessed. Hopefully we can continue for some time to come...
