Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

It's a beautiful day!

My hubby photo bombed me!

There are a couple of small herds in the area...

You lookin' at me?

Plenty of green grass around for the prairie dogs this year...

One of three wagons at our friend's place...

Chattin' on the porch...

Pretty view!

A peek inside the home...Rick & Peggy did all of it themselves!

Love the bathroom sink!

This shot was taken about a week ago by Rick from their...

The neighbor's longhorn! Whew, those are some horns...8 feet across? I think...

There are more than bikes, bison & prairie dogs in these hills!...

We took a nice ride to Hot Springs on Wednesday. It was a beautiful day for a ride. We encountered prairie dogs & bison along the way, & of course, lovely scenery too! The purpose of the trip was to check out a leather love seat that our friends Rick & Peggy have for sale. We really wanted to replace the one we took out of the rig about 5 years ago, but after measuring & re-measuring, we ultimately decided it just wouldn't comfortably fit. Our current leather lazy-boy recliners are much larger than the original two rocker recliners, making it too tight to put them on one wall together. Not sure what we'll do now, probably stick with our current seating arrangement. We like it, we were just looking for additional seating for company which we seem to be having more & more of lately. Guess that is a good thing, right? It's always nice to have family & friends over for a visit. Fortunately we have plenty of outdoor seating, especially here in the Black Hills!

We're slowly getting settled in. Most of the 'outdoor' stuff is out. Still want to put out a few more solar lights as they are nice to have lit when we return home after dark. No streetlights around here! Just plenty of stars & moonlight. Nice :)

Friday Dick, Lou, Larry & I are going to the Crazy Horse National Monument for the laser show & a night blast honoring Ruth Ziolkowski (1926-2014) and commemorating the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn (1876). We always enjoy visiting Crazy Horse to see what they've accomplished over the winter. We can see they have been blasting on the top of the hand & on the horse's mane but more on that later. Saturday we'll be back in Hot Springs for the annual Arts & Crafts fair. Our musician friends will be playing & there is plenty of 'stuff' to check out.

And finally, for those of you waiting for news on Larry's hip, they are drawing all of the fluid out & will be testing it this Tuesday, June 30th. They will also biopsy the solid mass they found in the groin at that same time. We won't have any results until the follow-up on July 9th, so please, keep him in your thoughts & prayers. We're sure it will all be fine & are glad they are finally working toward a diagnosis & more importantly a fix! He's been a real trooper through this trying time & I pray he'll get relief by Tuesday afternoon. Thanks for all your prayers, we appreciate it!
