|Sorry to be so long in posting but last week we made an unexpected trip to Mesquite, Nevada for a few days. Sister Joyce had an issue with her automobile making it undrivable, at least in the foreseeable future. She wanted help locating a trustworthy, inexpensive used vehicle & hoped Mom & Larry could help her locate one. After a lot of research they finally found a nice vehicle in St George, Utah & by the end of the 2nd day it was purchased & insured & in the driveway. A very nice Dodge Intrepid in good shape.
Larry & I stayed at the Eureka Hotel & Casino while there, compliments of sister Joyce. We enjoy staying there as the hotel is in a separate building from the casino/restaurant & is very quiet. And speaking of the restaurant, the food at this facility is always excellent. Thursday night we enjoyed an Italian buffet & then Friday we returned for their 'super' buffet served in a different restaurant, weekends only. It included shrimp, crab legs, prime rib etc etc etc. Oh my, it was wonderful! We haven't had crab legs in quite some time & thoroughly enjoyed each & every bite :)
While in St George we noticed that Big 5 was having a sale & there was also a coupon in the local paper for $10 off. Larry's been wanting to purchase a smaller, lighter inversion table to travel with. Your probably know that several years back he was experiencing severe back, hip & leg pain involving his sciatic nerves. After several disc decompression treatments he was basically 'fixed'. However, we purchased a Teeter-Up inversion table to keep him fine tuned & it has worked out extremely well for him. The Teeter-Up is the 'original' inversion table & the quality is significantly better than less expensive models. But it's also bulkier & heavier, so we'll leave this one set up here at Mom's for use when home & we'll travel with the smaller, lighter version.
We've been sorting & repacking our boxes & bins while home & have been blessed with fairly good weather. It's warm & sunny most days although it is getting into the high teens/low to mid 20's nightly. Brrrrr, colder than we like but at least the snow has held off for the past month! We'll be heading to Las Vegas next week for a few months & are looking forward to warmer temps for sure. Mom has decided to spend the winter at home this year so hopefully the weather will stay mild for awhile. Not sure she'll make it when winter really hits but I suppose she can always change her mind later & head south if it gets to be too cold & wet. Which is what I anticipate will happen, lol!
Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving day. We had a nice meal & enjoyed sharing it with family. Plenty of leftovers, so NO cooking today! Yayyy:) If you are out there hitting those Black Friday sales be careful, drive safely and watch those wallets & purses. We understand it's a pickpocket paradise out there. We're going to run down to the Ace Hardware later today for 50% off a pair of dikes for Larry. Other than that, it will be a laid back kind of day. Hope you enjoy yours as well!!!!
