Wednesday we came out of the Columbia River Gorge area in time to visit Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon. This is an easy to access waterfall, just a 5 minute walk from the parking area off I-84. There were more folks visiting today then we've ever encountered at the falls in the past. Bummer, I like it when it's much quieter, easier to navigate the paths & when you don't have to feel so guilty for 'hogging' the best viewpoint! Selfish I suppose :)

From the lower vantage point you can see both the upper and lower tiers. It's wonderful that everyone has this opportunity, including our 4 legged friends. It's wheelchair accessible as well from this area.

For an even closer view you can walk another several hundred feet up the paved trail to reach Benson Bridge which spans the falls at the first tier's misty base. Standing on the bridge you have a perfect view of the top tier's full 542-foot height and a nice vantage point over the second tier's 69-foot drop. We've visited here several times but it never fails to make us smile!

Hope you enjoy today's pics although I wish you'd been there to see, hear and smell it for yourself! One of our favorite stops in this lovely area :)
