|The drive to Ely was especially pretty this trip. Everything is so green, guess from the abundance of snow this winter. The sky was clear and blue, and there were beautiful cloud formations all around. Love it, love it!
We arrived Tuesday in time to visit with Aunt Joyce and my god-daughter Dannielle. After dinner we spent several hours going through family photos and just generally catching up. It was so good to see them again after all these years. Dannielle's son Chase is a cutie. It's the first time we've seen Chase, as they had been living in Denver until recently. Wednesday afternoon we got together for hugs and kisses to say our goodbyes. Our time together was way too short, hopefully it won't be as long until our next visit.
Thursday sister Joyce arrived. She was 4 hours late and we were worried sick. She is one of the few people we know that doesn't carry a cell phone. I guess it really wouldn't have mattered as there is no cell service for 90% of the trip here. Turns out she had to drive a friend home, (from Arizona to Nevada) which took the extra time. She should have let us know, but neither of them have a phone. Larry had just finished phoning the Highway Patrol to see if they had any news that might pertain to her. Anyway, we were very glad when she finally arrived. We made tacos for dinner, visited a bit and firmed up our menu plans for Dad's birthday party tomorrow.
We haven't set anything up outside the rig yet but plan to in the morning. Will take a few pics of our site then. I have my Nikon D-50 in the shop right now for a good cleaning and boy, do I miss it! Am using my Canon A-540 in the meantime but it is acting up most of the time. I actually bought a new (used) one on Amazon yesterday, as I already own all of the accessories. Sometimes it is nice to have the lighter, smaller camera available. Hopefully I'll get a few decent shots at the party tomorrow....
