September 5 Moved on over to Prince Edward County, Ontario not to be confused with the Province of Prince Edward. The temps were in the high 70’s, traffic was light so the 150 kilometers was an easy drive. We found the office and got a camp site; all the wooded sites were full. This Provincial Park has 5 campgrounds with 900 camp sites we were site 840. With lows in the mid 50’s sun is good no shade.. After setting up camp we went to the town of Picton to resupply the kitchen.

September 6 After breakfast we took a nine-mile bicycle ride on the park trails. Rode some and hiked some for a total of a little over 10 miles. The scenery on Lake Ontario is wonderful, the weather was cool almost chilly. After the ride we just hung out around our site and did little to nothing. Our campfire was very brief due to fairly heavy rain.

September 7, headed out about 10 to explore more of the area. We headed to Cherry Valley, Milford and Waupoos where we stopped for wine tasting and bought a bottle of Maple Ice Wine. A little later we stopped at Fifth Town Cheese Factory and enjoyed a cheese board-with some to take home. In Picton we found Gelato at the Bean Counter to round out our snacking, after all this was the “Tasting Trail”. Finishing through Bloomfield and “The Local Store” where they house all types of crafts and art work done by locals.
