Door Peninsula and Lake Michigan
We arrived here in Kewaunee Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. We had heard that the Door Peninsula is a beautiful place to see. Well, that was all we had to hear. They were right.
For those of you who don't know, Door Peninsula is that little finger of land that juts out into Lake Michigan right across from Green Bay.
We stayed at a really nice RV park and had several helping of Frozen Custard while we were there. We all headed up into the peninsula one day to do some site seeing. The Door Peninsula is known for its cheese and its cherries. We all stopped at a cherry place and sampled cherry juice and bought cherry mustard. It really is better than it sounds.
We found the cheese factory and all stocked up on cheese. Think we will all have to find the prune factory next! Dick and Gail and Larry and Diane only went as far as Sturgeon Bay and then turned around and headed home. Don and Bonnie and Tony and Juliann drove all the way to the end, so they will have to tell you their adventures.
Dick and Gail and Larry and I ate a picnic lunch overlooking the harbor and did a little shopping in the cute downtown area of Sturgeon Bay.
