GRANDSON'S COLLEGE GRADUATION TRIP travel blog

Yesterday Ross was able to test one of the two starting batteries and the test showed the battery was marginal at best. This morning at 0700 I called Sacramento Freightliner but I had to leave a message. I had not received a return call from Sacramento Freightliner but 0900 so I called Affordable RV in Newcastle and they said we can replace your batteries at any time and so we disconnected and by 1130 we were in Newcastle and by 1330 we were on our way back to Lodi with two new starting batteries.

Ross retested both of old batteries after they were removed from the motorhome and both batteries tested "BAD". It cost the price of two batteries, one hour of labor, 160 miles of travel and fuel but we consider the cost to be fair and likely to eliminate a break down at a location not as controllable as the situation we were in today.

Tomorrow we will rest most of the day because we will leave Lodi mid-morning on Sunday and drive to Bakersfield where we will spend one night and then head for Indio, California for one night and hopefully arriving in Phoenix early Tuesday afternoon.

That is all for today,

Ross & Marge
