Jazzabout Trip 2012 travel blog

Jazzabout in the park

A view of the river in front of us

Last of the packing done early Monday morning and on the road at 10:30 am. Drove through Lot's of heavy rain on the way, when we got to Bonnie Doon we were amazed at the water level of Eildon Weir, it was as high as we have ever seen it.

We decided to free camp at Oxley rather than arrive in Mount Beauty late afternoon, found a good spot at the local recreation reserve and had a good nights sleep. Now about to continue on to Mount Beauty.

Mount Beauty is just as lovely as ever, the autumn colours are spectacular. We have set up camp at the Holiday Centre and caught up with a lot of our friends.

We went to the Anzac Day service this morning and this afternoon we are just going to relax and catch up with some reading.

The Mount Beauty music festival was as good as ever, the weather has been perfect the whole time and the Musicians and Singers were excellent.

The last group we heard was a bluegrass band called Coolgrass, they were amazingly talented and funny. they did a Leonard Cohen send up to the tune of Hallelujah and called it "Most Peculiar" and then ripped into an AC DC Spoof

titled "It's a long way to the shop, if you want a sausage roll". A great way to finish the festival and so much fun, we almost danced our way back to "Jazzabout".

Now packing and getting ready for the rest of our journey, will catch up again soon.
