After about a weeks delay we finally got on the road. Rv’s are a little temperamental, and this one tried to test us. After getting everything loaded, closing up the house, and getting on the road, we made it about 25 miles when the brakes failed. We got them fixed and started out again 2 days later. This time we got out about 30 miles and the brakes failed again. On our third attempt 3 days later, we finally made some headway.
We arrived in Robinson IL and enjoyed a great stay with John and Janice. Quite a bit of family showed up and it was great to see them all.
Off to the Chicago area. We are staying at a very nice state park in Fox Lake. Played golf at Bob O’ Link and at the Ivanhoe Club so far. I have attached a few pictures of Ivanhoe. For those of you who may not know, I was the GM at Ivanhoe during it’s construction back in the early 1990’s. It is truly a magical place. The club is a 27 hole course. The Forest, Marsh, and Prairie make up the 3 - 9s which makes the club truly unique. The clubhouse is 66000 square feet and a deck over 11000 square feet.
Will be in Minocqua WI next for a little more golf and visiting with friends from our years up there. After that we head into new territory.
