First a little history: Wilsonville was born "Boone's Landing" in 1847 when Alphonso Boone, grandson of the legendary Daniel Boone, built and operated a ferry across the Willamette River. Alphonso's son Jesse bolstered the business when he blazed a road connecting the ferry with southwest Portland and the growing towns of the Willamette Valley. The ferry was in continuous operation until 1954 when the freeway and bridge were completed. Even today, Boone's Ferry Road is a major thoroughfare winding through this part of the country.

While we've been in this area we have taken several trips to see, wonder at and photograph the splendid scenery of northwest Oregon. You can view some of our pictures of Mount Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, the Oregon coast, and other sites.

We'll be leaving Wilsonville April 17, first to get some service on the motorhome, then we'll head slowly north to visit some of Suzy's family and join up with a caravan group to tour Alaska and the Yukon Territory. We'll keep you posted on this web site, so check in every once in a while to see what we've been up to.
