Pasta and Power Take On Australia!

We start our trip with Air Canada's non-stop flight (15 hours in total) departing October 10 and arriving in Sydney the morning of October 12. Since we're crossing the international dateline, we'll lose a day, but gain it back on the return.

Along with enjoying the cuisine and wines of this city, we have four days of activities planned in Sydney including a "Hunter Valley Wine Tour" and a "Bonza Bicycle Tour." The highlight for us will be seeing a performance of "The Marriage of Figaro" opera at the Sydney Opera House.

On October 16 we board Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas for a 12-day cruise along the East Coast of Australia. With its rock-climbing walls, pools and whirlpools, fitness center and walking tracks, we’re bound to find lots of things to do to work off the amazing meals that we will experience. Some of our shore excursion plans include snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, cycling the River Walk in Brisbane, and enjoying a tour in Newcastle to see Koalas, Kangaroos, Platypus, Wombats, Tasmanian Devils, Echidnas (not sure what these are!!) and Dingos.

We will try to update the journal on the days that we are at sea ... but you never know ... the spa may win over internet time!!
